‘Buy from home’ from carsales is designed to help car buyers engage in frictionless sales transactions with dealers from the comfort of their own home.

An extension of the recent ‘Badges’ enhancement to carsales and AutoGate, ‘Buy from home’ links a number of initiatives to make it easier to for dealers to engage with customers and sell cars remotely.

Via ‘Buy from home’, dealers can highlight to consumers that they can package home test drives, finance applications, trade-in valuations, remote payments and driveway deliveries — making the remote car-buying journey seamless.

A recent study conducted by carsales suggested COVID-19 related travel restrictions are the number one concern of car buyers.

The research showed 53.4% of respondents are looking to buy a car within the next month, but over one-third of the survey’s participants nominated the logistics of taking a test drive (17.3%) or travel restrictions (19.5%) as their biggest concern.

“The latest survey data from carsales says that Australians are still looking to buy cars right now and the move towards more ‘normal’ buyer behaviour is reflected in significant growth in sessions, searches, views and dealer enquiries post Easter,” said Michael Holmes, carsales Executive Director – Dealer.

“’Buy from home’ demonstrates our on-going new product support to dealers. It aligns with ‘virtual showroom’ features on carsales.com.au and AutoGate and will help dealers retail and merchandise their inventory more effectively to buyers that are concerned about travel restrictions, penalties and their own safety,” he added Holmes.

Like badges, dealers can add ‘Buy from home’ via AutoGate. The ‘Buy from home’ badge will be visible in search results.

‘Buy from home’ has already been added as a filter for consumers searching at carsales.

“This is a great initiative and I believe it will resonate with consumers. I encourage all dealers to access our guide to adding ‘Buy from home’ to their inventory published on carsales. But if dealers need assistance, our dealer support team is on hand to help,” said Holmes

“We also have a dedicated Dealer Support Hub with more AutoGate tips and comprehensive buyer behaviour insights at csnbusinessstg.wpengine.com to help dealers navigate this period,” he concluded.

Connect more effectively with buyers. It’s easy to add badges – including Buy from home – to your published inventory on carsales.
