Top-ten brand to donate $10 for every new-vehicle test drive of an MG car in December
MG Motor Australia has revived its ‘Test Drive for a Difference’ program in which every test drive of an MG model through a dealer will generate a $10 donation to the Red Cross in the lead-up to Christmas.
The initiative runs during December, with the funds raised to provide practical and personal support to young people who are homeless (or at risk of becoming homeless) – especially over the Christmas period.
MG’s local outfit has a history of supporting the Red Cross, with a partnership first forged in 2020.

“We are humbled to extend our relationship with the Australian Red Cross this year and help vulnerable Australians, particularly at a time of year that can be difficult for those most at risk,” said MG Motor Australia and New Zealand CEO Peter Ciao.
“For many, the holiday season is a time to rejoice and celebrate.
“However, we are acutely aware that not all Australians are afforded that opportunity and our Test Drive for a Difference is helping encourage future MG owners to support the great work that the Australian Red Cross is doing to combat homelessness on our streets.”
The donated funds raised by the initiative will be capped at $40,000, equating to a maximum of 4000 eligible test drives.
Those test drives are obligation-free.

Some of the Red Cross’ ongoing programs or supported initiatives include the Red Cross Roadhouse Program in the ACT, which helps more than 40 people on a daily basis.
Another is the Perth Soup Patrol which feeds an average of 40 people each night and serves 20,000 meals each year for those in need.
MG is set to smash its 2021 sales targets after another stellar year, with the Anglo-Chinese carmaker currently sitting in a comfortable seventh place overall.
It recently rolled out a refreshed ZS EV which holds the mantle of being Australia’s most affordable car, which will be joined in 2023 by the first EV to be built atop of its new electric vehicle platform.
