Penny Ferguson replaces Mark Cameron as JLR looks towards an electrified future
Jaguar Land Rover has announced the appointment of Penny Ferguson as its new managing director in Australia.
Formerly the market director (Australia/New Zealand) for jewellery giant Tiffany and Co, and most recently the head of retail at pearling company Paspaley, Ferguson (below) spent her early career in the area of chartered accounting.

“Penny brings a depth of business experience gained within the luxury jewellery industry,” said Martin Limpert, Regional Director Overseas, Jaguar Land Rover.
“As Market Director and member of Tiffany & Co.’s leadership team for Australia and New Zealand, Penny successfully drove the establishment and expansion of their operations in the region.
“With her broad expertise in multi-channel luxury retail operations and finance, customer-centric mindset, and modern leadership style, Penny is well-placed to drive our business transformation in line with the Jaguar Land Rover Reimagine strategy.”

The Reimagine plan is designed to move the storied English brands – bankrolled via India’s enormous Tata conglomerate – towards a zero-emissions future.
It will see Jaguar move to a single-platform model range that will feature battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), while the Land Rover brand (which includes Range Rover) will include a mix of BEV and hybrid- electric (PHEV) products built on a second architecture.
Land Rover will roll out six EV variants by 2026, according to the company.
Ferguson replaces Mark Cameron, who has returned to the UK after a three-year stint at the helm of the Australian operation.

Sales for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands have been badly affected by the prevailing headwinds facing the industry, with Jag sales off some 40 per cent year on year and Land Rover around 32 per cent.
The Defender (above) is the best-performing product across the two brands with 765 sales for the year, while – somewhat ironically, given the popularity of the segment – the Jaguar i-Pace is the poorest seller in the group, posting just 10 sales thus far in 2022.
