Toyota Kluger seven-seat family SUV receives another price hike, now starting north of $51,000
Toyota Australia has quietly added $1400 to the asking price across the 2023 Toyota Kluger range, with no advertised changes to the seven-seat large SUV’s specifications to help soften the blow.
The increase has officially pushed the Toyota Kluger’s entry-level price above the $50,000 mark as the GX 2WD petrol model now opens at $51,120 plus on-road costs.

That hands a significant price advantage to key rivals such as the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe and Mazda CX-9 – all of which start from less than $48,000.

Each model grade continues to include 2WD and 4WD drivelines with the new petrol engine, plus an AWD hybrid option.
A Toyota spokesperson told carsales: “The price rise on Kluger was due to a combination of factors outside our control.
“More expensive raw materials, labour, tooling and packaging are feeding into higher manufacturing costs, there has been a significant increase in sea-freight charges and economic conditions are generally tougher with inflation on the rise, both here and overseas.
“In addressing these challenges, Toyota remains committed to keeping price increases to a minimum while maintaining our customer expectations for the quality and reliability of our vehicles.”

Toyota has delivered 1785 examples of the Kluger this year (to the end of February), which places it behind a variety of other large SUVs including the Kia Sorento (2088) and Subaru Outback (2025).
The off-road-oriented Toyota Prado remains the class leader with 2305 sales year-to-date.
